Missed the Samsung Galaxy S23 Unpacked event when it aired? No worries. We got you covered.
Today Samsung unveiled its next generation flagship smartphones: The Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Plus, and the Galaxy S23 Ultra. Pre-orders for the phones have begun, and they will begin shipping on February 17.
The Galaxy S23 and S23 Plus are pretty much the same phone in every way except size. The original Galaxy S23 sports a 6.1-inch screen with narrow, symmetrical black bezels, while the S23 Plus has a 6.6-inch screen. These are indeed the same sizes the S22 predecessor had last year, which should make it easier for S22 users to transition into the S23.
Though not much to see when compared to last year’s S22, the S23 family does have an important distinction when it comes to its internals. For the first time in recent memory, Samsung has decided not to equip the Galaxy S23 Ultra with regionally specific chips. There is no longer an Exynos and a Snapdragon variant of the same phone; instead, Samsung relies entirely on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for the Galaxy S23 Ultra, with no Exynos variant in sight.
As far as colors, this year all of the models will come with the same options: Cream, Green, Lavender, and Phantom Black. However, if you purchase your phone unlocked from Samsung’s official store, you will be able to choose from four additional limited edition colors such as Lime, Graphite, Sky Blue, and Red.
However, there is so much more to unpack from the —pun-intended— Unpacked event. We invite you to check out our video above so you don’t miss any of the exciting announcements, and we’ve done all the work and condensed it all into less than six minutes, because time is of the essence.
